What a beautiful way to start a day when you see Celebrate Life. Perks a person up just reading the words. Today’s idea came from Sara Naumann’s, painting water colours with your ink pad. Getting great results on a limited budget.
I used the Altenew Everlasting Happiness stamp and sentiment. First I stamped with versa mark ink, them covered with Stampendous Age Copper embossing enamel. If you use heavier embossing powders, remember to heat from the back of the card first so some of the enamel will start to melt and the chunks will have something to stick to. I was impressed with the fine lines I got and then was onto painting my flowers. Hampton Art had a small box of paints for sale so I picked them up of course and used them here. I choose a coral pink and a darker pink, and the green blue in the box. My paper was #110 white paper stock.
Laying the colours on a craft sheet, spraying water beside the colours and using a water colour brush I started with the light coral and painted all the flowers in. Next came the darker pink and putting it onto the centre and pulling into the petal. I did this more than once and at times used a paper towel to blot the excess ink. Remember this is not water colour paper so you can only do this a few times. The leaves came next and again I painted them in then using the same colour I painted from the bottom to centre. After I was happy with what I had done I used the same colours to splatter over the card. The sentiment was stamped on with Delicata Celestial Copper ink using my stamp platform to stamp more than once.
Now it is time to mount the card. I choose papers the colours nearest to the flowers, one light one darker, embossing the darker one with a leaf and floral embossing folder. I did not have a gold or copper metallic foil paper so used a reflective foil paper hoping it would pick up the colours in the card. The foil was die cut with two different size flag dies. I mounted everything together, placed the flowers on some foam then added bling.
