This class has been so much fun, it took me way out of my comfort zone in many ways.
First I have not been a big fan of layering dies, but I have changed my mind on that score. We can use one or two of the layers or all of them, add some embellishments and you have a beautiful card. This works well with scraps from other cards in same colour family and using background papers as well.
Second is I don’t like doing monochromatic cards, but I have learnt that we have to know what are considered monochromatic colours, and that is any colour as long as they are different shades of the same colour. Again add embellishments and we have another beautiful card. I do a lot of sympathy cards for our church so I really like the white on white shades. The coloured cards take me away from sympathy sentiments.
Third, I don’t always like doing cards on black card stock but again they turned out beautiful. So all in all this was a course to step out of comfort zones for me. I hope this encourages you to try some layering dies, and enjoy the results.
My first card I used white card stock and a cream card stock for both leaves and flowers I also used the same cream colour for the lines I put on in place for ribbon. Always decide and stamp your sentiment before attaching your flowers. Add some splatter before or after your card is done and finish with your choice of bling.
